Wonders of Water

Drinking water is the single most important “ingredient” for a healthy body. After all, your body is made up of 70% water!
Both kids and adults need water every day to stay fit! Did you know that your body loses water constantly throughout the day?
More Water Fun Facts:
- Your lungs lose between two to four cups of water each day just through normal breathing and even more is lost on a cold day.
- Each trip to the bathroom costs you about one cup of water.
- If you perspire, you lose about two cups of water (more if you are physically active).
Health experts recommend adults drink a minimum of (8) eight-ounce glasses of COLD water daily while kids should drink at least 1 quart of water (4 cups) for every 50 pounds he or she weighs (you should be drinking cold water because it is absorbed more quickly into your body than warm water).
Water benefits your body by:
- Helping to maintain proper muscle tone.
- Aiding digestion and your body’s ability to absorb nutrients.
- Flushing out waste and keeping your kidneys functioning properly.
- Preventing water retention (yes, water consumption reduces water retention and the reason why your body retains water is because it perceives that there is a shortage!).
- Helping to metabolize excess fat.
- Keeping your skin healthy and resilient.
- Helping to prevent such ailments as headaches, body aches and fatigue.
- Improving your body’s natural immune system.
- Quenching thirst!
So reach for WATER instead of soda or sugary fruit juices to stay healthy!
