Studies have shown that kids as well as parents need at least 3 dairy foods a day to stay healthy. Research has also shown that daily consumption of low-fat dairy products helps manage an individual’s proper weight.

Below are some ideas on how you can get more dairy into your day!

  1. Top low-fat cottage cheese with your favorite fruit like strawberries or pineapple.
  2. Freeze your favorite yogurt in the freezer for a tasty frozen treat later.
  3. Sprinkle cheese on top of chili or your favorite soup.
  4. Combine your favorite yogurt and fruit with low-fat milk for a delicious smoothie.
  5. Instead of regular milk, drink low-fat strawberry or low-fat chocolate milk.
  6. Add low-fat cheese to your favorite sandwich or into a burrito wrap.
  7. Add low-fat cheese to scrambled eggs or be creative and make an omelet.
  8. Top your favorite crackers with melted low-fat cheese, ham and other toppings.
  9. Eat cereal each morning with low-fat milk.
  10. Prepare oatmeal with milk instead of water.
