Welcome to Kid Fit’s Nutrition section. This section is dedicated to providing parents and caregivers the necessary tools and ideas to help your family eat healthier. In order for kids to eat healthier, research has shown that changes must begin at home!
Did you know that over 67% of youth ages 6-19 exceed dietary guidelines for fat intake? Or did you know that only 20% of high school students eat the recommended minimum of five fruits and/or vegetables a day? Are you aware that one in three American children born in 2000 will develop diabetes at some point in their lifetime?*
Practicing good nutrition is EXTREMELY important for kids as they grow, and it will produce the following health benefits:
- Safeguards against diseases such as asthma, type 2 diabetes, and high cholesterol;
- May help your child perform better in school and have more energy;
- Assists in maintaining a healthy weight for proper growth of bones and other vital organs;
- Promotes lifelong healthy eating habits for optimum health;
