Stay fit with these Kid Fit Fit Tips!

  • Keep Active! Organize a neighborhood basketball or kickball game.
  • Eat slower. It takes time for your body to realize when it’s full!
  • Take the stairs instead of the elevator or escalator whenever possible.
  • Always stretch your muscles before and after you exercise.
  • Be safe! Always stay with a buddy when playing outside!
  • Start a walking club at your school and/or in your neighborhood.
  • Eat only when you’re hungry, not bored.
  • Learn a new sport.
  • Don’t be afraid to try new, healthy foods like a fruit smoothie or dried fruit.
  • Get your whole family moving with daily walks, bike riding, or dancing!

  • Choose water or low-fat milk over soda and sugary fruit juice.
  • Instead of watching TV, start a family game night.
  • Eat only in the kitchen, NOT while watching TV.
  • Pack healthy snacks on trips from home like fruit, popcorn, or pretzels.
  • Eat fewer meals on the road.
  • Eat dinner as a family whenever possible.
  • Close the kitchen at 7pm to avoid late-night snacking.
