Family Fitness Fun

Here are some quick ideas on how your family can be more active and have fun together!

  • Go on a family walk every day and bring the dog.
  • Go on a family bike ride daily.
  • Visit a neighborhood park or playground.
  • Start a Family Game Night instead of watching TV during the evenings.
  • Go roller skating or ice skating.
  • Have a family basketball, kickball, or soccer game in the backyard. 
  • Put on some music and dance together.
  • Have a Family Olympics with jump ropes, hopping on one foot, obstacle courses and/or relay races.
  • Learn a new sport together as a family, such as tennis or skateboarding.
  • Go bowling.
  • When shopping or out-and-about, always take the stairs instead of the elevator.
  • Visit a neighborhood YMCA or recreational center to swim.
  • Go to a neighborhood school track for a jog.
  • Clean the house together.
  • Take a family hike at a nearby park or trail.
