A Healthy Smile Lasts a Lifetime

  • October is full of “Tricks and Treats”. This year, help your kids enjoy Halloween and maintain healthy lifestyles.
  • Halloween isn’t the only thing celebrated during October! It’s also National Dental Hygiene Month. When giving out treats for Halloween think of substitutes to candy. Pencils, bubbles, toothpaste, noisemakers, sugar free gum, granola bars, pretzels, popcorn balls, or nuts are all healthy alternatives!
  • Don’t deny candy altogether, but don’t keep it around until everyone has eaten it all. Buy smaller bags of candy and get rid of the leftovers a couple days after the holiday.
  • Instead of buying a Halloween costume from the store, make one with you child! This will ensure quality time, thinking of an idea and executing it.
  • Don’t forget to pick pumpkins and carve them! When cleaning out the inside of the pumpkin save the seeds and cook them for a tasty treat.
