Avoid a Candy Overdose this Halloween!
Fill your family’s bellies with a nutritious meal on the night of Halloween to prevent kids from filling up on empty candy-calories and overindulging themselves.
- Pass out non-food treats: pencils, notepads, bubbles, noisemakers, toothpaste, etc. With these items, you can easily save leftovers for next year!
- Granola bars, pretzels, low-fat cheese and cracker packs, sugar-free gum, rice krispie treats, popcorn balls, raisins, nuts, 100-calorie packs and fruit are all healthy alternatives to trick-or-treat candy.
- Don’t deny your family the joy and tradition of eating candy during Halloween but do put the candy out of sight a few days after it’s all over.
